It was great to catch up with Tom and hear his creative outlook in this Mini Squawk with Suki Thompson. He touches on being the ‘new boy’ at Wunderman Thompson and the importance of having a sense of belonging.

There was a lot of opportunity in terms of clients and the benefits of being part of the WPP network, which is why Tom chose to head to the agency, referring to it as 'London’s best-kept secret'. He’s excited to be working with brands such as BT Sport and HSBC and looks forward to lifting even more of Wunderman Thompson’s brands into the limelight through creativity.

Suki and Tom discuss getting back to the office and hybrid working, with Tom going on to share his thoughts on the benefits of physically being back in the office with agency camaraderie and the ability to share ideas more easily, especially amongst creatives. His creative style is touched upon which includes his knack for not being afraid to have difficult conversations with clients when necessary.

All of the creativity that came out during Covid, and so incredibly quickly, is further discussed, with Tom talking about his own experience of “starting little fires to see which ones took off and learn from that.” There's never been a bigger need for creativity than in these current times.

Looking ahead, Tom talks about what he hopes to achieve in his first year at Wunderman Thompson.
