Suki ThomsonChildren’s charity touraid, which brings disadvantaged children to the UK to create lasting relationships with schools, sporting and cultural clubs, has elected Suki to its Board of Trustees.

Suki explains, “The charity helps inspire the next generation of leaders, role models and mentors to enrich their own communities. I’m thrilled to help children aim high and reach for their dreams.”

Suki and her children, Jaz and Sam, played host to Lorence and Jon from Kenya’s The New Life School Primary School Filadelphia when they fell in love with the boys, their love for their school, their families and Kenya. The family then got involved with bikeaid  and raised funds to send second-hand bicycles to Africa.

Touraid’s chairman, Tim Jones, said that Suki’s huge charity experience would add tremendous value to the charity. He believes that as a host parent, she knows better than most the charity’s real impact on helping to change children’s lives for the better.

Suki is also Board Trustee for Macmillan Cancer Support.
