The Gate adds creative firepower with new design director
The Gate announces the hiring of design director Andrea Ferlauto.
The Gate announces the hiring of design director Andrea Ferlauto, who will be based out of the company’s London office and will report directly to Chief Creative Officer, Lucas Peon.
Ferlauto’s background includes heading design and teams for some of the world’s most famous brands such as Guinness, HSBC, Duracell, Grolsch and The Macallan, working for national and international agencies such as Mother, DDB and J Walter Thompson.
Lucas Peon, Chief Creative Officer of The Gate said: “Andrea is a passionate visual artist with a dynamic, conceptual mind, who also spends his time painting graffiti on walls around the world and exhibiting his abstract calligraphy work across Europe and the US, which keeps his advertising work fresh, in touch with culture and always closer to what’s ahead.”
Ferlauto added: “The chance to join The Gate at this stage of their journey, seeing how committed they are to making work that truly stands out for its craft and its creativity, could not be more exciting for me.”
Ferlauto joins The Gate following recent wins and award-winning campaigns. The agency was just awarded three Clios for their ‘Nobody is Normal’ campaign for Childline which along with their recent ‘Sex never gets old’ campaign for Replens - which won the prestigious TfL Diversity in Advertising competition - have received three shortlists for The One Show and five, so far, for D&AD.
Part of MSQ, The Gate was named Oystercatchers Small Agency of the Year in 2018, current Financial Services Forum Marketing Effectiveness Agency of the Year in 2019 and in 2020 had its campaign for Childline named one of the year’s Top 15 Film Ads by Campaign magazine.
