What does your morning routine look like?
Well things are a lot different now that I am working from home… Whereas I used to cycle to and from work, I now try to get outside at lunchtime. So, my current morning routine involves a few extra minutes in bed [because with no commute I can…], before a quick shower and breakfast during which time I scan the headlines. I then walk a few steps to my WFH set up, where I start my work day.
What food outlet are you most looking forward to visiting when you’re back in the office?
There is a delicious little cafe called Truth which has some pretty tasty salads, sandwiches and sweet treats. Amazingly, it has expanded during lockdown, so hopefully no more waiting for a table!
What does an average working day have in store for you?
One of the things I love most about my job is that there is no average day – other than it is all about Zoom right now…. It can involve meetings with my team, agency, colleagues from across the UK, EMEA or the US… There is a lot of collaboration happening across the business which means much of my time is about connecting with others.
What is the most random thing on your WFH desk?
A coaster from one of my sisters which says ‘I had my patience tested. I’m negative’. Think there might be a message there?...!
What’s the best thing about your job?
My team are incredible. It has been such a tough year, and they have proven – yet again – to work hard, remain passionate and creative, and keep a sense of humour.
Who was your last email from?
One of my team members about an upcoming campaign we are planning.
What is the best piece of advice you have received?
Don't be afraid of being afraid. Sometimes the one thing you need for growth is the one thing you are most afraid to do.
And the best piece of advice since Covid hit that’s helped with your sanity?
Find time for yourself outdoors, each and every day. This has been such an incredibly challenging time, with all of us dealing with this this pandemic in different ways. But it is important to find time every day for yourself – for me, getting out for a walk, a run, or otherwise helps to clear my head and puts me in a positive frame of mind.
What did you want to be when you ‘grew up’?
An architect. I love that you can be both creative and practical - and best of all, see the outcome of your work for years to come.
And a light hearted one to finish on – If you could have any super power?
After this past year, I would have to say flight – wouldn’t it be amazing to go anywhere, anytime?...
