We really hope this finds you and your teams healthy and safe. As we work through these uncharted waters, we wanted to reassure you that it's business as usual at Oystercatchers and we are here to help. We are working remotely but it’s full steam ahead.
We wanted to offer a few observations from our conversations with clients as well as agencies and on how we are supporting business at this moment in time.
As an industry focused on creativity, we are confident that we will collectively rise to the challenges ahead through the technology at our disposal, most especially helping clients keep close collaboration with agencies via virtual communication. We already do this with many of our international clients, facilitating chemistry meetings, workshops, ad-hoc meetings with client and agency partners. In reality, it’s the way of doing business in the digital age. We will be continuing to work with our clients as usual to keep pitches rolling.
Over the past two weeks, we've actually seen more contact from clients. CMOs are proactively addressing the twin challenges of how to continue delivering creative media and production with dispersed teams, and secondly how their people will be most effective for the challenge of the coming weeks/months ahead.
This week, our sister businesses Econsultancy and Marketing Week, released results of an exclusive survey of almost 2,500 brand marketers looking at how marketers feel distributed working will affect their professional activities. More than two-thirds of UK marketers believe their organisation could be compromised by the need to work remotely amid the coronavirus pandemic, and just over 70% think that enabling remote working at scale is going to be important or critical over the next two quarters.
What does this mean for agencies? Whilst many are forecasting a slow-down and a reduction in marketing investment – we already know there are many clients who will take this opportunity to reset and reframe their agency relationships. Those who look to innovate and evolve are those who will win.
Oystercatchers has always been hard-wired optimists and whilst challenging, this period could provide brand owners with the insight and opportunity to accelerate their digital transformation and develop deeper, higher trust relationships with their agencies and customers when most needed. ,
