Think Jam created a unique themed desk drop to press and influencers to celebrate Captain Marvel being screened at IMAX. 


Playing on the end scene from Avengers: Infinity War, a bespoke Captain Marvel pager was sent to a targeted list of film, entertainment and comic book-fan influencers and journalists.


The package which also contained tickets to see the film, was overwhelmingly positively received, generated wide spread and highly engaged with content and was even shared by film talent, Mark Ruffalo.


Top level results include:

  • 43 pieces of individual coverage from 14 outlets and influencers Over 7,000 engagements (Likes, Comments, Shares) and 8,000 video views on recipients’ Twitter and Instagram feed posts.
  • Film talent sharing of one post achieved additional organic engagements of almost 10,000
  • Organic coverage generated on popular social news aggregator Reddit and on Weibo, one of China’s biggest social media platforms
  • The opportunity to see generated from pager drop activity was 1.9 million


The IMAX Captain Marvel press drop vastly outperformed other press drops in the same time period with key target EMPIRE, achieving almost 400% the engagement of the second best performing.

  While press drops ordinarily receive a single hit from outlets, this staggered activation achieved multiple posts across the 5 day period from the majority of recipients.
