For the last few years the marketing industry has been dominated by discussions around data and tech, with automation and AI driving much of the debate as businesses transform themselves for the digital age. But at its core, our industry is driven by the power of creativity and we need to champion its role and its value once more.
We believe that creativity will be a key industry focus for 2019 and so we kick off the year with creativity as the topic for our first Oystercatchers Club event. Join us at 6.30pm on Wednesday 23rd January at the Ham Yard Hotel, to network with your industry peers, hear the discussion amongst our panel, and put your questions to them.
We are delighted to announce our first two panellists:
Kerris Bright, Chief Customer Officer, BBC.
Sitting on the BBC Executive Committee, Kerris is responsible for developing a closer, more personal relationship with BBC consumers, licence fee payers and signed-in members. She joined the BBC in June 2018, having previously been Chief Marketing Officer at Virgin Media, and holding senior positions at BA, ICI and Unilever. She is a highly experienced leader, bringing a customer-centred, data driven approach to setting marketing strategy and executing with creative flair. She holds a PhD in molecular neuroscience from the University of Sussex.
Benny was previously CEO of RBS, and then led the successful launch and growth of Tesco Bank. He has recently been appointed as Strategic Advisor to Nicola Sturgeon to build an investment bank for Scotland. He is Chairman for the National Galleries of Scotland is also Chairman of Sistema Scotland which helps children in deprived areas through music. If you read the Sunday Times on 9th December, you’ll have seen Benny in the business section. He is a huge poetry fan and is never anywhere without a book under his arm.
