James Rennie Consultant

James Rennie graduated from Hull University with 1st Class degree in Business in 1990. From there he went to KPMG, where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant.

James then went to McDonald's, and over 15 years worked in a number of financial, commercial and marketing roles. He led McDonald’s UK media strategy, planning and buying departments, gaining extensive experience of working with media agencies, developing strong teams and relationships. For his last four years, James was Head of Marketing at McDonald’s. He ran McDonald's Marketing Co-operative Ltd. (McDonald's marketing arm) and managed a media/marketing budget of over £80m/p.a., helping drive significant increases in sales and marketing returns on investment. He developed internal processes to obtain more value from the media agencies and new performance measurement systems to get the best out of them.

James is married with one young boy and has recently set up home in Brighton.
